In November 2006, a loan Agreement was signed between the Port Authority of Ploče and the World Bank, as well as a guarantee Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the World Bank. This initiated the Transport and Trade Integration (TTI) venture with emphasis on the following development projects in the Port of Ploče:
With the new equipment being set into function, the terminal will have an annual transfer capacity of 4.6 million tons in the first phase, with a maximum capacity of 6 million tons per year.
The port of Ploče obtained the required quantities of “RT5 Superskin” from Reynolds Soil Technology solutions in Australia, as well as specialized fire-fighting tanks with unique technical characteristics (a built-in mixer for this type of liquid) which will perform the job of dispersing and suppressing the coal piles.
Luka Ploče d.d. expressed an interest in the purchase of a business stake owned by the Croatian company Luka Vukovar d.o.o.
